SSC GD 2026 Selection Process
To qualify and be shortlisted for the vacancies, candidates must go through each stage of the selection process as detailed below.
- Written examination (Computer Based): The CBT exam consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions with 2 marks each and a negative marking of 0.25 marks. The duration to complete the exam is 60 minutes (1 hour) with no sectional timing.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).
- Medical Test- The last stage of the selection process, which is mandatory to check whether the selected candidates are medically fit or not. After the medical test, the candidates shortlisted will have to appear for document verification.
SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2026
- SSC GD Constable Tier 1 exam will be conducted in an online mode, a multiple-choice-based exam.
- The CBT test consists of 4 sections with 80 questions.
- The total time duration is 60 minutes.
- There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
- The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is conducted in English, Hindi and 13 Regional Languages viz. Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
